Today's youth not so bad after all!

I felt the need to post this as a counter point to the bashing of today's youth some on here seem take pleasure in.

My daughters sorority along with other sororities, fraternities and students at Ball State university took part in a dance marathon for Riley Children's hospital in Indianapolis. College and highschool age students in Indiana have raised over 20 million dollars since its inception in 1991!

I got this text from my daughter this morning letting me know how the Ball State kids did and have to say I admire them big time!

"WE RAISED $344,801.21! I'm on my way to work for the day. But thank you for your donation! The goal was 250,000."

Guess today's youth aren't as worthless as some seem to portray! If anyone has a couple extra dollars donations can still be made, my daughters link is or if you know a student that might have participated you can look them up at the site.

Ball State University Dance Marathon: Taylor Peterson - Riley Children's Foundation

From Riley's dance marathon web site.

What is a Riley Dance Marathon?

Dance Marathon is a national Children’s Miracle Network program that concentrates on year-round fundraising with the focus of helping kids at Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health.* The fundraising and event planning culminates in a continuous, multi-hour event which blends games, music, dancing, Riley family stories and philanthropy.* Students are on their feet the entire marathon to stand for those who can’t. College and high school students relish the experience knowing they have generated funds to support life-saving care for thousands of kids every year at Riley Hospital.

In Indiana, more than 60 high schools and colleges participate in Dance Marathon. Across the nation, more than 350 schools participate for Children’s Miracle Network hospitals.* Riley Hospital for Children is Indiana’s only Children’s Miracle Network hospital.*

Riley kids are the inspiration for dance marathons.* Through powerful testimonials, Riley kids and their families spread the word about the importance of fundraising for Indiana’s only comprehensive children’s hospital. hi

Good kids usually come from good parents.
You are partly to blame for her being a decent kid.

There are a lot of good kids around. Sadly there are an awful lot of awful kids around too. I don't know which group is more numerous but I suspect the difference isn't nearly as great as it should be. That's very cool what your daughter and her friends did. You have every reason to be proud.

Thanks but have to say my opinion would be the good ones vastly outnumber the not so good. Just depends on if a person chooses to focus on the positives or negatives in life I suppose.
