All right! That is great! I quit too, after 41 years of smoking. Of course it took a heart attack to get me to do it. Wish I could have quit a bit sooner.

I have something in common with Barney, I quit smoking 10 minutes before my first heart attack; haven't smoked since that moment in 1992. Food tastes better, clothes and hair doesn't smell like smoke, the walls and ceiling at home aren't coated with tobacco tar. It's been great.

One word of advice for Swifty. Don't be a born again non-smoker and complain about the smoke every time you see a smoker doing what you did for so many years. Some of the earth's most obnoxious people are those that quit smoking and now expect every person within earshot to join them in making smoker's lives miserable.

Wonder how much money you didn't spend in the last few decades? It's just amazing how much people spend. A guy was ahead of me the other day and paid almost $10 for 2 packs.

Congrats Swifty... I think it is GREAT...
My daughter and her husband quit smoking with the help of a new drug that the doctor gave them. My little grandson who is 6 just told them both one day about 2 months ago that he didn't like the smoke smell and that he wanted them to live forever so that done it for them. They went to the doctor and ask for the drug to help them kick it. They have been off them for almost 2 months now.
Congrats to you again...

Good for you quitting smoking has to be the hardest thing I and my family have been through. I WILL never go through that again.

I agree with Terry there is nothing worse then a reformed smoker that preaches at all smokers. Every one quits different some it is an easy process and others it is the end of the world or you wish it was. After what I went through no way can I judge someone else that has not quit yet. I don't wish that agony on anyone till they are good and ready.

So to me anyone that can quit good for you and you deserve a pat on the back!

Yeah thanks from all of you. I will agree that food taste better it must I eat more of it, haven't saw a weight gain. That was a big fear. I also have probably become a non-smokers voice for smokers. It the smoke does bother me more since I quit but if I am somewhere and it bothers me I move or leave, I never complain because I HATED that when I did smoke.
