For all you stuck out this hoiliday, I feel your pain. Almost everyone here, has been stuck out at least one holiday, and it sure sux.

Hope your day goes by fast, It can be a lonely day at a Truck Stop, Like my daughter says to me-Keep your chins up!

If you are stuck somewhere put it up here, Someone might bring you a plate or invite you over.

One person's stuck might be another person's paradise. I'm sure that somewhere there's an expediter that's just elated they don't have to go to a dinner and have to put up with whining Aunt Esther and drunken Uncle Herb.

I'm at the Walton, Ky. J.

I guess we are some of those that do not consider ourselves stuck anywhere.

We make the choice to be out here and we have a nice load for Monday. We make the choice to be out here on the road and not have 9 to 5 jobs and you have to take the good with the bad.

The truck stop here will have a nice Easter Meal if we choose to go in or we might choose to eat in the truck and enjoy what I cook.

The weather here in Michigan is awesome so we will get the truck cleaned up and ready for another week of enjoying our lifestyle.

So for the rest of you out here "suffering" Happy Easter" to you!

Glad you 2 are enjoying your day. It must be easier on husband/wife teams. I just know for me, when I have missed various holidays, birthdays, anniversary those days have a sad feeling for me.

You have a very good point it is much easier on husband wife teams I think.

I cannot even imagine a day much less a holiday as a solo.

Hey, we must be related! Ha! When I was a kid I always enjoyed the gut wrenching giggles when great big Aunt Elizabeth and short little bald Uncle Gus came to visit, Uncle Gus couldn't hold his drinks at ALL, and somehow Gus would get the dogs to start singing.. (howling).. it was sure a howl! (Maybe not so much for Aunt Elizabeth tho) :D

Anyway, ya, sad sometimes for the solo to be out there during a holiday I guess; my other half is solo this time, way out in NS. But he enjoys shooting the breeze with the other guys there at the TS. And the families seem to do ok without em, everyone feels bad for us, so this year I actually get TWO easter dinners that I didn't even have to cook! Normally we'd get one, and I'd be the designated cook :)

This year I'm home in my little shanty. Last year I took my first load for Bolt Express to a delivery just outside of Buffalo N.Y. for a Good Friday delivery. Stayed in a Home Depot parking lot that night. The next afternoon management asked me to leave. It was high teens at night so I moved to the warmer climes of Western PA. where it warmed up to the low twenties. Sat through the following Monday. Wishing I had an extra sheep dog or two warmth.

We are at Pilot in Columbia, SC this year. I do miss being home with my 2 oldest granddaughters, but they are going to their other grandparents home today anyway. My other daughter and the rest of my grandchildren live in NC but that's a little too far away to drive to for a visit. (We don't pay for fuel, our owner does.) So I'm just going to have to settle for pictures again this year. :)

Doug, I'm glad you posted this. Even though Frank & I are together all the time, at special family gathering times, I get a little down in the dumps. Always for Easter I color Easter eggs with the grandchildren and we have a big ham dinner on Easter Sunday.

But Linder's post was such a positive reminder of all we have to be thankful for! It was the "pick-me-up" that I really needed for today!!

Thanks to both of you. We are enjoying our day, getting the cleaning done and then going to a great buffet before the day is over.

We can't be in our home church but we can listen to our pastor's message on the internet.

If you want some sort of real food your welcome to come on by, just hanging out getting ready to watch the final round of the Masters from Augusta,Ga 513-317-4208

Thank you so much for the offer Miker, but we are kind of stingy about the colds that my daughter decided to share with us when we were home last weekend. We don't want to share. :p

We hope you and your family have a terrific Easter! :)

We're still here in Laredo. Not as sad for me so much as my son being home alone this Easter. We moved to Georgia last July so we would be in the freightline, so he has no where to go for Easter this year. First time I haven't been with him on a holiday.

Well i went out and spent $200.00 of food for the week and then some bought a small ham and the trimmings got back to the truck stop and threw a belt on my genset no one in town has one to replace it. So i had a sandwich and a cold can of beefaroni yum yum. So im os until monday sometime so i can replace my belts its either that or throw out the food. On the + side my twic card came in, in under 3 weeks from the time i applied so ill head to Cleveland in the morning then off to Hubbard Oh to get my belts. My onlt entertainment was watching a PAM run over an England trck at the truckstop. Now before someone says i should have stopped him i was 12 parking spots away and just happen to have been looking down that way at the guy flying a kite in the parking lot. Wow i think ill sit on my hands now so i won't start clapping all this fun is putting me on overload.
