Tire Recall: Michelin cargo van and truck tires

There are likely many expedite cargo vans with these tires. Ford used the tires as original equipment on the 2010 through 2013 model E-Series van.

The tires being recalled were manufactured at a Michelin plant in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, from January 2010 through June 2012 and are LTX M/S tires, size LT225/75R16 115/112R LRE.

Here's the Michelin page with the details of the recall, including the letter to be sent to tire owners.
MICHELIN LTX M/S2, MICHELIN X Radial LT2, MICHELIN Latitude Tour

I almost bought these tires as so many expediters have recommended them. I am sure they are still good and this is a manufacturing issue, but I am glad I stayed with what has always worked well for me, Uniroyal Laredo's.

I just bought 2.....and they were USA made by the serial number....Canadian tires are easily spotted by the maple leaf beside the serial number....no maple leaf, not Canadian

Seriously, there is a maple leaf next to the serial number?

Love my Michelins!! 153,500 on the last set. I put them on all 4 of the vans my wife and I have. Even a spare!! All have been excellent.

Chinese tire field testing?View attachment 8116

Actually no. Since the Chinese are usually guarded and always keep things in secrecy (ancient Chinese secrets, you know what I mean?); and you were able to obtain a rare secret photo of their tires making process. Three thump ups for you :)

In the photo, as you can see, Chinese engineers are very precise and maticulous. They stacked those tires in the exact positions. That is, the spaces between tires are measured in yoctometre. There are reasons for that extreme engineering.

Instead of using an artificial heat and other man made gigs to cement the tire components together, they opt for using of the nature resources in creating bonding of the tire components in the final stage(they knew American consumers loved anything that is "nature or natural related).

In the picture, you are seeing the tire components(rubber, steel belts, fabrics, etc.) are slowly being fused together, molecule at a time, thru the use of the natural sunlight, winds, rain and eco friendly grass on the bottom. This process by comparison, is much more superior than other tire making processes manufactured by their competitors. They are good tires indeed....I got 4 of them :):)
