Tire Pressure Monitoring

Has anyone ever been to the website www.truckhappy.com
and used the tire pressure monitoring caps?

Are they a good idea? I hav used the car tire caps and it saved me several times when I had slow leaks or the pressure dropped.

I have a set similar to these on my van and they are great for quick reference. on my 16" tire, I use 60# on the steer and 80# on the drive. Can't remember which site sold them but they were $6.00 each

I bought a set of 10 at the Dallas truck show. I'm waiting till the end of the month for the new truck before I put them on. I anticipate them being a worthwhile addition.

I use a system by a company in Cinci, OH. I believe the company is called Pressure Pro. I love it. Do a PTI hit the button six times and as long as the pressure is with in 2 of the rears and the steers come in between 113 and 116 cold I am all set.

One thing amazing about these if the difference in the tire pressure when the sun is on the outside tires they really get much higher than the others.

If a tire gets 10% low of its set high, an alarm goes off warning you that you may have a nail etc... before the tire causes serious damage or blows. Will not indicate over heated tires only low pressure.

I like the system and glad I invested in it. Steers have 118K and I still feel they are only half worn.

I also have the Pressure Pro system. It is a very nice accessory. It is interesting to see how even when all tires are at the same cold pressure, under highway conditions they will heat up at different rates, causing the pressure in the different tires to increase at different rates. It sounds about as interesting as watching a load of clothes wash, but I enjoy it.

At this years Expo, I checked out Broompilots system and am going to test it on a truck and see how it performs. I thought it was a neat trouble free tool.
With high fuel costs, drivers need to watch tire pressure as frequently as possible.
One week of low tire pressure on a few tires can cost you plenty if you are not paying attention.
