those who use SLINGBOC

I really like this idea.
Those of you that have one of these, does your air card signal strength have to 100% or will it work on a less than perfect signal?
I have read the FQ but did not really get a clear answer on this and thought asking an actual user would be where I find an answer. If you do need a real good signal, did you or do you use a signal amplifier of some type?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

I have a slingbox pro, ithe signal has to be fairly good for the best picture, you can change some settings and degrade the video, if your signal is too weak to keep it from freezing. it isn't like watching tv at home but for my purposes it works fine. I am going to switch to a sprint aircard as soon as my verizon contract is up they do not limit you on how much data you use each month like verizon.

Well, last time I answered questions about our Slingbox it was pretty obvious that I am not a technician so I hope someone else can give you more info that is accurate. I will tell you what I know, though. We LOVE our Slingbox.

We have a Sprint Air Card. We can't tell exactly how much of a signal we have because we use a router in the truck and the signal goes through our router. But we have been very satisfied with our signal.

While watching something with a lot of action (like football) occasionally the picture would get "jumpy" due to poor streaming. Then we have an outside antenna to use and that clears up the problem. But we have only used the outside antenna a couple of times. If the outside antenna isn't sufficient we also have an amplifier we can use. So far our Sprint Air Card has done the job very well.

I use it with the Sprint card and Dish at the house. I'd call it good half the time, tolerable 30%, better than nothing 10% and where's my book the other 10%. I'm thinking about getting the vuqube on the truck and have the slingbox as backup for times when I'm parked in bad rain and lose the satellite.
