First Nations in Ontario pleased that agreement reached to continue the point of sale exemption for First Nations.

TORONTO, June 18 /CNW/ - Yesterday Ontario Regional Chief Angus Toulouse received letters from Federal Finance Minister Flaherty and Ontario Ministers Bentley and Wilkinson confirming intergovernmental agreement for the continuation of the point of sale exemption for First Nations in Ontario. This means that First Nations in Ontario will not pay the 8% provincial portion of the 13% HST.

I don't know, it seemed that they traveled from the west to the east for some reason.

I think that there was the 'ice' bridge that brought people here and then China seems to be the first to visit, followed by the Vikings. Somewhere there was something about the Celts but who knows.

Well thank goodness they're pleased. Wouldn't want to displease the red power in case they might make good on their threat to shut down major highways while dignitaries from around the world are in town. What else would they like today? And what will it be tomorrow?

And what would you do IF your contract was broken? Yet again.... A deal is a deal, a treaty a treaty...honour the treaty...

Maybe the Indians should cancel the treaty and take back Mississauga and Port Credit...? That would be interesting...since it is on a perpetual lease to the white man and I think it is 5 miles from the banks of the Credit River in both directions...

The way I see it is this.
I had a house in year 1800. I died and my kids sold it for $1 when they needed the money. Two hundred years later my kids' kids' kids' kids' decided that my kids made a bad decision, got ripped off and sold it for too little. Now those great great great great great grandchildren of mine are going to take it back and get the right price.

The natives who I happen to know, who live normal lives like the rest of society, are not into blocking roads and squatting on lands and halting developments and seeing how much free stuff they can get and see if their kids can still be allowed to have a 'status card' even tho they're this many times infected with white blood.

If we allow people to be militant, militant is what we'll get. If the natives would like to take back Mississauga, be my guest. We'll move out, they can move in, get off the dole and make their own economy.

Do you know that they actually, still today, now, in this day and age, actually teach these people in their 'native classes', how badly they were abused by the white man? How their women were raped and their land was taken? And our government pays for them to receive this 'education'?

What would happen in the USA if all the relatives of all the past slaves were allowed to do, and get away with, this sh*t? I can take ONE guess.

Pj..you are going beyond the point here...they have a contract that says NO TAX...all they want is NO Tax...don't you expect your contract to be kept? and what happens at a union shop when the company doesn't honour the contract? There is a walkout a kind of demonstration per say....

The Seneca tribes blocked the NY thruway the other year with information booths...

I have more of an issue with them darn French..we shoulda beat their butts right back to France, they have held us hostage long enough and cost us more then one could calculate...
