...What about Patents, Copyrights and Trademarks? Either that we uphold that system - or let it die. Either way it's going to hurt technology and bringing new products, ideas and services to market.
Apple actually was granted a patent on the "rectangular shape with rounded corners" for the iPhone and iPad, which the jury dismissed in a common sense move because they felt that geometric shapes should not be patented. But the jury allowed for the patent for "square icons with rounded corners". The patent system is out of control, which is what this is all about. This is especially true since most of the "insanely great" innovations found in the iPhone and iPad were stolen by Apple from the Palm Treo. But Apple got the patents on them. It's like the Windows Icon Mouse Pointer (WIMP) interface that Apple stole from Xerox and then tried to sue Microsoft over, who stole their operating system from IBM.
Well what about all the other rectangle phones with rounded corners? The os is different, the Samsung screen is larger, the Samsung has buttons the iPhone doesn't have. The only similarities are the shapes.
Is this not the silliest thing you have ever heard of. 2 companies acting like 2 children, I want the round one, no I want the round one, my mommy said you cant have mine, o yea. Im gonna tell on you and ............................................................................
