IT'S NOT WORKING!!!
No ruby slippers.
I am heading south after this drop tonight. It seems like the days go by so slow when I know it is just a few days before I know I will be home. And then it just flies by.
I went Christmas shopping for my daughter, she is 10. I got her one of those new skate boards; they are shaped like an hour glass. She is an only child, so she is spoiled.
I know, why am I out here. Well, there is no work near home. Shoot, I sometimes wonder myself. Now that I am driving a fleet truck, I cannot just drop and go as I use to. Though after talking to them about this home time, which will be a week long, they said if I put out, they will be flexible with home time.
I am bored. This run, pick up at 2330 drop the next day 2330. It is cold here in Hebron, Cincinnati are, snow, frozen puddles. I have been able to come in early then park in the lot until I can get loaded and unloaded. Which I am glad for because I don’t like driving at night when the weather is real cold due to the black ice. I saw the sand man going down 71, which is a bit comforting. Though it is the comfort that ends up getting one in trouble.
Be safe all you out there driving.

I think I will go play some doms......

I know how you feel.. do I stay or do I go.. I have company
coming on Sat. Feeding the folks. Really need to be home
by Thursday.. If I stay I am surely going to the Northeast...
then I won't ever get a load back south.. Oh well.. at least I
own my own truck and don't have to have permission to go..

Merry Christmas.. hope you get home soon

We can't wait to get home! We have been out since the first week in October. In Dallas today with 1st out- can't be too picky about load since there are many trucks here- and a refusal will put us at the back of the pack! Hoping for load somewhere close to home ( Alabama) and then just run a few short loads in that region. One can dream anyways! Hope everyone has a great holiday, fun, safe, and relaxing!

We are sitting in Fort Worth and also worrying about the same thing! Do not send us to far so we don't have to dead head so far to get home but keep us running this week. I do not envy a dispatchers job this week as I know we will refuse more this week. We want directional dispatch and that never works well.

The house is calling our name though and we cannot wait till Saturday and we will be there. I love this time of year all of the lights, the music and thoughts of family and friends and lots of card games. Some though I know are dreading us coming home as they are going to get their behinds whomped at cribbage!

The North Atlantic Cribbage Champion never gets his behind whomped because he is the whomper, not the whompee!

Well our first out in Dallas Texas came, and went... it was up to Washington! With a stop off in California, total 1857 miles. But we would never make it home for christmas... so we turned it down. That Hurt!!!! Back to the back of the pack! Was told that when you turn down a load with stop offs it counts as if you turned down 2 loads- I find that hard to believe, but owners told us thats what the company said...
So we are heading back towards home- maybe we can pick up a load outside of Dallas !! Be safe, I hope everyone makes it home in time!
