Trump has plead the Fifth hundreds of times and he defended the practice.
Trump has plead the Fifth hundreds of times and he defended the practice.
So what?Trump has plead the Fifth hundreds of times and he defended the practice.
You're highlighting that Pomerantz "took the Fifth." If your implication is there is something wrong with that, I'd ask you to explain why it's wrong for Pomerantz but presumably OK for Trump. When Trump did it, you said not a word about it.So what?
I'm just highlighting it for public consumption. Enjoy. You're highlighting that Pomerantz "took the Fifth." If your implication is there is something wrong with that, I'd ask you to explain why it's wrong for Pomerantz but presumably OK for Trump. When Trump did it, you said not a word about it.
Here's an interesting observation about the Trump/CNN Town Hall ratings:Liberal media are going apoplectic over CNN Town Hall with Trump last night. "Disgraceful", "Train Wreck", and other hilarious adjectives being used by MSNBC, Rolling Stone and the other usual suspects. However, the winner by far was CNN with 3.3 Million viewers in that 8PM time slot. Fox News and MSNBC lagged far behind with 1.3M each. The ratings in the 25-54 demographic were even more drastic - a total blowout of the competition. Maybe CNN is moving away from the low-rent liberal orthodoxy and the others can't stand it.
Cable News Ratings Wednesday May 10: Trump Town Hall Surges CNN Into First Place in Total Day Demo, Still Third in Total Viewers
The 8 p.m. event blew away the competition, notching more than double the total viewers of both Fox News Tonight and MSNBC's All In with Chris Hayes.www.mediaite.com
That fact that trump did so well on a Democrat channel proves hes doing something so right. Here's an interesting observation about the Trump/CNN Town Hall ratings:
"At a time when CNN has been struggling to turn around viewership decline, the telecast proved to be a ratings disappointment, with Nielsen reporting just 3.1 million viewers overall. That was a big boost over CNN’s typical 8 p.m. telecast, but a smaller audience than CNN’s town hall with President Biden last summer (3.7 million) and six previous Trump town halls carried by Fox News — calling into question both CNN and Trump’s drawing power." True. CNN ratings were in the basement to begin with. Plus, you’re asking Trump supporters to turn on CNN, something they don’t normally do.That fact that trump did so well on a Democrat channel proves hes doing something so right.
Don't forget about the fact that Trump did not offer a defense in the Carroll case. His attorneys only tried to discredit the case Carroll made. When you do not appear in court to mount a defense and do not have your attorneys do so, it kinda tilts the scale against you.Sounds like another defamation case where there isn’t any evidence, but it’s in NewYork so that doesn’t matter.
It was a rape case the jury said from the preponderance of the evidence (by 51 percent)that there wasn’t one.Don't forget about the fact that Trump did not offer a defense in the Carroll case. That's part of the story, yes. And what you say is true. The rest of the story, also true, is the jury found Trump liable for defamation and sexual abuse, and ordered Trump to pay Carroll $5 million in damages. The abuse and defamation did happen, the jury decided. And Trump made no defense. It was a rape case the jury said from the preponderance of the evidence (by 51 percent)that there wasn’t one.
He already had a deposition. The jury wasn’t supposed to have some type of compromise verdict. That wasn’t their job. Their job was ONLY to rule on the rape allegation and the supposed “defamation” that arose from the specific(rape) accusation. That's part of the story, yes. And what you say is true. The rest of the story, also true, is the jury found Trump liable for defamation and sexual abuse, and ordered Trump to pay Carroll $5 million in damages. Trump acts much different when he is under oath than when he is speaking in public. Why did he not appear in court to defend himself? He would be under oath in court and subject to cross-examination. Apparently that was intolerable for him and/or his attorneys. Had it been tolerable, Trump would have showed up.
The reason why Trump did not appear has not been disclosed by Trump or his attorneys. Some say it was cowardice. Some say it was because has inadequate self-control to avoid getting tripped up and defeated in a cross-examination. Such comments are speculative. The one thing we do know as a fact is Trump did not show up. And we know Trump offered no defense.
How do you defend against something that happened 30 plus years ago......Don't forget about the fact that Trump did not offer a defense in the Carroll case. Nope there was a nasty storm.MSN

Guess we will never know the real reason....
You defend the same way the plaintiff asserts. She succeeded because she showed up. Trump failed because he didn't. There are other defamation trials and allegations of sexual abuse in the pipeline. We'll see if Trump shows up for those. How do you defend against something that happened 30 plus years ago......
Right. And it’s more than just Trump showing up in the evening at the rally after the storms clear. The rally goers have to arrive early and potentially expose themselves to severe weather for hours.Nope there was a nasty storm.
