Hi all.
I wrote about my truck, I twas 2007 International 5900i.
I asked for some feed back on anyone with a bad International.
There might be alot of truckers out probrably does not know my story.
If you give me a couple of miles I will love to tell you about my expeirence.
I bought a 2007 International 5900i blue, Nice blue.
I started to have problems with it from the get go.
First I had a electrical problem, my oil gauge wasn't working then my ac cut out, Then my volts gauge cut out.
Then the big stuff happened.
Had to replace head with 3000 miles on it.
Had to find torque specs for studs on tractor kept coming loose.
Then in between they had to change my turbo pipe out about 6 times, had to replace radiator surge tank and make the return hose smaller.
In the time i had 8 electrical problems, replaced my turbo pipe 5 times on paper and another 4 to 5 times not.
They had to drop my tranny which it was a 18 spd,to resurface the fly wheel, put a new clutch in it.
Because of issues with clutch from diiferent companies but they did not want to tell me about it.
My truck had only 93,888 miles when it burned.
A week and half b4 it burnt i called the dealership told them my engine light came on loosing power.
They told me could not see you today, I asked The supervisor if he could put the hand held computer on to find out the code so i could buy what ever part need to be replaced .
He told me no, so i called cummins told them my problem and asked if they could help because my truck got out of thier shop a week ago.
She called them they told cummins to tell me to come and they would look at it between 3-4.
I got there and the supervisor shut the truck down and restarted it to wipe the code out then put the throttle down black smoke came out and he said stop worrying about the small stuff and drive the god **** thing.
A week and half later the truck caught fire.
I tried to talk to navistar that didn't work tried a lawyer i got soaked for 3000 dollars.
I had to file bankruptcy and let my dream go of being my own boss and owning my own truck.
If anyone else is having issues please feel free to tell me I am here to help any way that i can so what happened to me don't happen to you.
I have pics got to my file look at them.
Thank you for your ear drive safe keep the rubber side down.
