Easy enough just post you last layover in California..
When did you get there?
Less than 75 or equivalent..
HOW LONG B-4 you got out...
Prior to Easter W/E we spent 8 days but in all fairness we were dispatched on a "stellar run" before a mechanical truck issue..
Sooo avg wait time for a great load 4 days....
Dropped again on Good Fri and was authorized DH to AB NM for Easter W/E with a follow up load in San Antonio the next Tues...
Not lucrative as usual but most accommodating...

Delivered a week ago Saturday near Los Angeles. It took nine days to get a load out. We did one 400 mile run and two short runs (14 and 34 load miles) in California in those nine days.

A handful of load offers were received. The good ones went to other trucks (many there, all wanting freight), A few were turned down for low pay or because it hurt our chances for the next good load by forfieting <75 and putting us in a worse location.

By the time we got dispatched out, we were willing to take a load at any price as long as it got us east. Happily, the load that took us to Denver paid well. Sadly, all the time sitting reduced our revenue per day number to the point that it would have been better to decline the $6,600 load that brought us to CA.

It is gonna be hard to turn down the Calif runs when you look at the big picture..
Even with all the craziness we had a great April having done 3 turns to Calif.
Granted we got to know T/A East security more than we would have liked (funny to watch that Latino lady in the morning running off the bob tails) Still I would gladly take 10 Aprils with the wait time between loads.

A trip to Cali could be a good thing. Get some PM done.See some sights. Don't sit a TS all day. Do some laundry. It doesn't have to be a waste. Expediting is just like everything else, it is what you make of it.
