It appears the GOP wins the White House on a regular basis and can get along quite well without Ron Paul.
You wanna bet that's the case at the present time ....
or in 11 months ?
How firm are your convictions (
mebbe I should say delusions ) that the majority of the electorate will share your revulsion and utter hatred of Obama ?
His support isn't transferable to other candidates.
Depends on the candidate ....
certainly, none of the current bunch merit it.
So, GOP voters might view Paul as a skunk at the garden party.
Some might - perhaps those that prefer mindless goosestepping in a march to
political oblivion ?
A serial sore loser who has made a career of whining.
That flys in the face of reality - as his repeated re-election to Congress over the last 40 years (?) clearly demonstrates.
Thankfully, Ron Paul is weeks or months away from retiring.
Oh .... I wouldn't want to bet on that .....
Where do Libertarians go after Paul fades away?
We stay right where we are - and continue the revolution, one individual, one mind, at a time.
You can attempt to stop it - by appealing to people to support corrupt candidates who are "
nasty",
immoral, lack
character, and are serial
hypocrites/adulterers.
Good luck with that - you'll need it.
Do they have a farm team? A fallback position?
Yeah, sure do - in fact,
you helped elect one of them to the Senate.
If you wanna really consider the
current, and likely future, reality, you might wanna have a look at
party registration trends in the last ten years - the Republicans' are
actually falling, the Democrats were rising (in 2008), then fell in 2010 (
but so did the Republicans .... only more percentage-wise than the Dems ) ..... undoubtedly due to the
tainted brand.
(See if you can figure out exactly
what tainted it)
The tainted brand BTW, which you are apparently working earnestly to further taint and
damage beyond repair ..... by advocating that a
corrupt, slimeball idiot like Gingrich be the nominee .....
while at the same time sliming an honest, ethical, decent, and very principled man ...... simply because you disagree with him politically in probably only one area (foreign policy)
Real bright move there Genius - I'm sure
that will attract principled folks in droves.
You just go ahead and keep sticking your private parts into the woodchipper - be sure and let us all know whether it still hurts the same as the last time.
Anyways back to the subject at hand: Those that self-indentify/register as Minor Party, Independents, and simply un-affliated have
grown. This is a trend that's been going on since the 1970's ...
All and all, it's a continued
bloodletting for the GOP.
The only thing that has saved the GOP thus far is that they are right on some issues (
but all the political rhetoric in the world can't overcome the fact of "no delivery") .... and have a better "get-out-the-vote" operation ...
but at some point, if the trends continue, even that simply won't matter .....

Voter Registration Trends, May 2010
Any you wanna blow off conservative libertarians, and libertarian conservatives ....... and tell 'em
to take a hike ?
...... you belong in the movies ....
undoubtedly, Dr. Strangelove would be quite appropriate .... in a reprise of Slim Pickens' role .... Wheeeee !
