The People Have Spoken.

The people have sent a strong message to President Obama this election cycle. The people are tired of a run-away government that does not listen to them. This is a great chance for "Republicans" to redeem themselves and return to their core principles and values. If anything the newly elected Republican majority in the House of Representatives can stall and even block legislation that will further harm our freedoms. I do not believe in the two party system but I do believe in the Tea Party movements efforts to remove "career politicians" and rearrange the good old boy political club in Washington. Career politicians are all dinosaurs and rhinos and they need to retire at let some fresh faces come into the mix.

The American people are sick and tired of a president who pontificates to the masses as if he is some sort of deity or religuous leader. We need a president and congress who listens to and supports the will and needs of the American people. I hope this forces the Democrats and the Republicans to work together to bring sanity back to our Federal Government. But i'm only cautiously optimistic at this time. Both parties have continued to show their disdain for the people whom they were elected to represent. I used to be a die hard Democrat before I realized that both parties and their crooked career politicians were working together to give us the shaft.

Let this election be a word of warning for any career politican who continues to ignore the will of the people. Let this election bring fear into the hearts of any politician who continue to serve their own purposes instead of representing the people. I think we should vote out every politician that has been in office since hair bands were popular. We should clear the entire field and get some fresh faces in there. Marco Rubio is a prime example of a fresh face. He grew up struggling and has fought his way to the top. He's a truly self made man and he will listen to the voters who elected him to office. I hope things get better from here on out, but I will remain apprehensive at this time.

It will be interesting to see if this is just a wave of emotion that will eventually subside. If you think this last Congress was useless then wait until you get all these ideologs together, fighting over who is in charge (tea party or GOP). It's been two years and the country has been fooled to think the democrats have had enough time to make a difference in anything that has basically been in republican control over the last 30 years. If you think anything is going to change you have another thing coming. Who was helping these candidates out? Special Interests and they will be looking to collect on their investments. Plus, the big tea party people that Palin was behind like, O'donnel, Palodino, Angle, Fiorina, Miller and Whitman (did I miss any?) all got beat, except for Haley. The tea party people lost more than they won. Hey, if this what America wanted, so be it. Boehner better step up and govern and give the people what they want. Should be interesting, indeed.

Oh yeah.....anyone recall any of these newly elected officials saying where they would make cuts?

At least this change has the potential to do at least some amount of good unlike the last change that never would do anything good no matter how long it was given.

You are so right Leo, just maybe the people in Washington will see now that people can vote them out as fast as they got in office

Well I singled out this quote for a very good reason.

For the past 30 years we didn't have a republican controlled congress.

For the past 20 years we didn't have a republican
controlled congress.

We never had a republican controlled congress, ever.

What we had was a majority of people in the congress at times calling themselves republicans but no where near what anyone ever called united except with very very few issues.

From 1994's election to the 2006 election, we have had a lot of compromise, a lot of deals struck and the dems got their way a lot of times. No one with any brains up there in those 'republican' congressional staffers' offices knows exactly how to actually put up a fight and a lot of what should have been told in the press about the truth should have been a no brainer.

If one examines the plays the dems made with just the court appointees in the early years of the Bush administration, you can clearly see what happened. There was no worry among the dems, they knew then and know now that if they threaten, the republicans will back down.

The newly elected republicans, tea party people included, will do the same thing as they always did. They will go to Washington and make excuses and think that they won because they were better than the dems, they acted conservative and they spoke to the people's need - wants and desires to have jobs and a better economy. BUT unless WE reinforce the message that we are tired of the same old sh*t, they will never understand that like in 2006, 2010 we fired the majority in hope to stop the Bullsh*t and have someone take us seriously.

We voted a LOT of the "Bums" out this time. We need to continue doing that. It would also be a GREAT idea to ALWAYS have the Senate in one parties hands, by a RAZOR thin margin, and the house in the other. Gridlock serves the People best. The least amount of damage our scumbags can do to us the better.

This may be considered a personal attack, but I can't help but finally comment: x06col, why do you not write your post in standard English? Best I can tell, you are trying to "speak", on these forums, in some dialect.

I'm sure most have noticed that when the heat goes up in Washington our "President" goes overseas. Old saying, If you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen.

Before ya vote them all out might want to make a law that says they cant get paid the rest of there Lives after they had done 2 terms Max. Must do Community Service for FREE for 20 years first. Then Once that Law is passed by the people then Vote the Bumms out. Idealy give them all only one term and never let them back in office and we would save a lot of money. as if they only got one term they couldnt have the chance to draw the the RET Pension, and we could Mimick the Perfrom to Serve as is in the Military. Personely I think a two term limit MAX should be in effect. and the Second Term only if they have Performed Admirlably then be forced out of office and be required to do community service for free for 20 years and its got to be actual logged hours and Documented service Example Coaching, Teaching in Schools, Meals on Wheels Programs delivering the meals, HOSPS, diaster relief help (roofing houses up grades for the Elderly ect, (No BS 15 hours a week) with a 2 week no serve LV peroid each year so they can take a vacation, While Working Regular Jobs. When they have 20 Years Consecitive then give them a RET Same as the Military Enlisted Personal. Pay Grade E-6. Their no better. It make them think twice. If they get caught taking Bribes by big business, they are out peroid.
Now how many would want to become a Congressman or Senator? Good Question.
Remember the President only gets a 2 term Limit.
why should any lesser offices be any different.
Think about it.
Clinton Cut the Fat (cut the Military)
Let the people speak and cut the fat out Washington itself. It won't happen but if it did it would make the ones that are crooks think twice wouldnt it.

I agree. Perhaps this individual is, in actuality, Daniel Carver.
