Every so often a mere man is offered the opportunity to witness the glory of Nature. I was afforded that chance today.
I was hunting out on Lake Erie when the first of the migration showed up. First just a few hundred birds at a time, then thousands. The started at around 11AM and never stopped. They just poured in from the North. When the day started there were only a few thousand birds on the Lake. By night fall there was 50 thousand, or more. The first Tundra Swans showed up as well. None there at daybreak, a thousand or so by noon.
It was truly a blessed day. It was not a TV special. It was not a picture in a book. I saw it, with my own two eyes. Enjoyed the sights and sounds with GOOD FIENDS. It was a wonder day to be alive.
