Cleaning Fairy: Home Intruder Does The Housework
An Ohio resident says she "wanted something to do" the day she broke into a stranger's home and cleaned it
A woman has admitted breaking into a stranger's home - before doing the housework and leaving a bill for nearly £50.
The Chronicle-Telegram newspaper reports that Susan Warren pleaded guilty on Tuesday to reduced charges of attempted burglary and trespassing.
She admitted that she cleaned a stranger's home in Ohio on a whim. Her crime has earned her local fame as the "cleaning fairy".
Warren, 53, told police that she was driving by the house on May 22 and "wanted something to do".
So she broke into the home, washed coffee cups, took out the trash, dusted and vacuumed.
Warren then left a note on a napkin asking for $75 (£48) – and included her mailing address and phone number.
The home owner's 19-year-old daughter was home sleeping at the time and said she heard Warren, but assumed her mother had hired a cleaner.
Warren said she has a cleaning business and sometimes will enter her clients' homes, clean, and leave a bill.
Her sentencing is scheduled for on November 26.
