Ok, here is the best TexMex in Indiana - they have been in the same location for 35 years!

People come in from as far aways as Minneapolis - just for the Chimmys! [link:www.expeditersonline.com/cgi-bin/dg2/guide.cgi?/United_States/IN/Columbus/Garcia%27s_Mexican_Restaurant1063583031.html|Garcia's Mexican Restaurant]

Indiana Food Stops. Heres my Favorite so far. Exit 16 on I-65 just north of Louisville. Country Buffet/ Truck stop. Excellent Buffet. Many choices of Meat and Vegies/Salad Bar and Good Deserts. All you can eat, Under $10.00. Give it a try if you are going through there. Butch...:9 :9 :9

Haven't gotten to go there yet but have an article about Bub's Burgers in Carmel, IN. It's the home of the Big Ugly Burger, one pound after grilling. Sounds like a mighty impressive burger.

Since the Indiana toll road sell-off, I'm joining a lot of other truckers in boycotting Indiana. Once it goes into effect, the truck tolls will double. At that time, no more fuel and no more food in Indiana for us. It's not like we're killing our own wallet either. $2.55/gal at the Petro on 69 just north of the turnpike? It was less in MI. The fact that I don't save much getting fuel there doesn't hurt me in the least.

Hope you will all consider what I'm saying here, as other states will be watching what happens. Shame they haven't learned from Texas and Ohio.

I agree, the sell-off is a bad idea. Last I heard you nobody ould "own the road in front of your house. The toll road shouldn't be any diffrent. Just my $.02

I don't drive the Indiana Toll Road now. It's just as easy to run up to I-94 or across US 20 or US 6. This is before the price increase.

I can't believe people pay to go across Indiana..U.S.24 is a fine highway as well as 20,6,30,50,etc. Since this is suposed to be about food in Indiana, my favorite is the all day roller dogs at the fuel stop in Gas City!:9

We use the toll road because we carry time-sensitive material. Same reason we go across the Ohio Turnpike. Though, I had forgotten how much Ohio actually was until Friday... $18.75 for the whole trip. From DC to Chicago, it's three toll roads in succession, totalling almost $50 for a 3-axle truck. I could imagine what it is for a big truck.

Favorite food? It used to be the huge friggin porkchop at the Brazil. Now, it looks like toll-house cookies ;)

Never have used the indiana toll road that much. Use route 6 or route 20 when coming from ohio and driving to chicago, Illinois or Wisconsin. Good way to avoid Ohio turnpike when driving in ohio heading to chicago. Take route 6 west into Edgerton,Ohio and take route 49 north to the Ohio turnpike, you will enter the turnpike but wont have to pay a toll since you are west of the last gate that collects a toll. You can save a little money this way. You will now enter the Indiana turnpike and let them collect $$ from your pocket. It will be interesting to see how busy route 6 and route 20 will become once that foreign company takes over the indiana turnpike. Those small indiana towns will go ballistic once they see all the truck traffic in their small towns. That is what happenned in ohio. finally ohio authorities lowered the fees somewhat on the Greenstamp. They also upped the speed limit to 65 mph for trucks on the Ohio turnpike much to the dismay of the Highway Patrol.
We should get used to this practice for in the future many of the interstates will become toll roads due to massive govt deficits. Already in Ohio the candidates for governor are pushing for toll roads throughout the state. They claim this is the way of the future for states to maintain their roads and bridges.x( :-( :'( :(
