OOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCHHHHHH! And we thought our first load was tough (with the benefit of hindsight, it wasn't). You posted on 10/2. It's now 10/4. How did it go? However your experience turns out, you have certainly earned first-load-story bragging rights. HAZMAT to Canada...That's a load most expediters would think twice about. It can only get better from here!

Birddog - nothing like looking your fears right in the eyes and moving forward. Best of luck - glad EO could assist!

There's no big deal about hazmat to Canada. If it's flamable or explosive, you take a ferry. It takes longer, but customs there is usually much easier to deal with.

Thought I would let you all know that it went ok.Not great but ok.I was deadheaded about 200 miles to pick up (I don't think they could find anyone very eagerto do it)the run was just under 200 then they requested 200 more dh to lay over .So that pretty much sucked the money out of it.Dispatch had me trying to use wrong bridge for hazmat, fortunitly shipper told me right one which I checked back with and got the correction.I think they owe me one.Was on time for everything (even though dispatch was calling every half hour telling me I was an hour behind)and arrived at drop an hour early. Now just need some more loads I'm sure it will get easier with experience. Roberts Express did that to us all the time...told us we were late. Made me want to rip the computer out and chuck it in a corn field ;-)

It's great to hear you got through your first load with minimal difficulty. By now you probably have a few more under your belt. I hope you share more of your experiences here. A lot of expediter wannabees come to this site to hear exactly what you have to offer at this time in your career; namely, how it is in your first few weeks. Before long, you will likely develop your expediting skill set tend to forget the early challenges. You will do things instinctively then that you have to consciously think through now. While you may be brand new in the business, the stories you have to share today can be of great interest and great value to those that are just a few weeks or months behind you.
