A big thanks to all who answer questions honestly in this forum. I have been lurking for about the last two weeks, and really appreciate all the ideas and thoughts that have been passed around. My Wife and I are Mid Forty empty nesters in Shelbyville, IL and have been looking into Expediting as a possible Career move. I have found this site to be most helpful and informative. It sounds like we are prime candidates for this field. Our work background is in manufacturing for both of us (Supervisory Level) and we are both overdue for a change. Right now my wife has to go in for some surgery next week, but as soon as that is behind us and She is healed up, I believe I will be contacting a few fleet owners to see if they are interested in a Newbie Husband/Wife Team with at least 20 years we can offer them as Team Drivers. I was concerned about revenue replacement since we are both in at management levels in Manufacturing, but that doesn't appear like it will be a problem.
Also, My 2 cents worth on the Survey... (Threaded in a different forum). I found it to be a VERY valuable tool for a newer than newbie such as myself for research purposes. I hope that enough people contact them about NOT dropping the Survey. I emailed Lawrence about my feelings on this and hope other will as well.
