There has been some "bad blood" the last few years with our friends from the North, maybe this is the effort to start the healing process.

What is of particular interest is that Eastern Canada feels a “kinship” to the Acadians in Gulf Region and have really stepped up to the plate with heart felt assistance. I believe Canada is the first nation to step up and not only offer help to the Gulf Coast - but is sending it.

I am surprised the US is getting the offers of help. As of yesterday, according to Fox News, the below are donating money or sending supplies. The latest largest contributor is Australia, with 7.6 million dollars.

France.....who would've quessed

Spain

They said Sri Lanka is offering money also. This is pretty remarkable considering they are still dealing with the tsunami issue.
