Former Owner Operator Terry O’Connell Hired in Safety Department
Safety takes priority here at FedEx Custom Critical. Well-informed owner operators professionally representing themselves and FedEx Custom Critical in clean, safely operated trucks are vital to customer satisfaction and, thereby, everyone’s success.
To help everyone meet that need, we have established the new position of field safety liaison. Terry O’Connell, a FedEx Custom Critical and Roberts Express owner operator for nearly 20 years, will be the first person to serve in the new role.
“Some owner operators complete their orientation and, after a period of on-the-road experience, realize that they haven’t absorbed all the information provided at orientation,” said Scott McCahan, senior manager of Safety, Recruiting and Contractor Relations. “We now have the ability to bring first-hand, face-to-face knowledge on the road to our contractors.”
The position also ensures the professional conduct, attitude and appearance of owner operators and their drivers while in the presence of customers and the general public.
Some of Terry’s job duties will include the following:
Terry has finally had his new role posted! It will be great to have Terry out in the field to get supplies from and to ask questions of. We feel he is going to be a great help to FCC and also to the drivers. He knows both sides of the fence very well and we do not think they could have found a better person to initiate this new position at FCC.
Congratulation Terry we could not be happier for you!!!!
