P.S. Hey, I hate Kmart! Does it make me rasist?
No, but you might be Rainman.
The teacher bullied the student (and the student's freshman sister who also wore the same shirt that day), and even recruited other teachers, teacher's aids, and students to help with the bullying. You know, a mob, not unlike tactics employed by the KKK, and isn't that ironic. The irony of Michelle Obama's hobby horse, the bullying of children, is also not lost in this.
In a meeting between the school principal, the teacher, the parents and other unnamed attendees, the teacher insisted she was just joking around. A few minutes into the meeting the teacher stormed out in a huff and did not return.
The next day when the student returned to class she was surprised to find the same teacher was still there. The teacher began the class by telling the students that she could no longer joke around with the class because a student who will remain nameless (and then glared at the student) got her into trouble. The student got so upset that she went to the little girls room where she hid until class was over.
After that the principal rescheduled the teacher so that she is still teaching, but is no longer teaching that particular geometry class.
Once the parents file an official complaint, which should happen today, then a full, official investigation can take place, with any necessary and appropriate actions being taken at that point.
Two other ironies in this. One, of course, is this took place in Philadelphia, the seat of democracy and the bedrock of personal liberties. The second is, the teacher refused outright the option of undergoing sensitivity training, which is when she stormed out of the meeting. It's ironic because the concept and practice of sensitivity training is a liberal concept to bring conservatives in line with politically correct speech and thinking. And isn't that a hoot.
