Shooter.....you're on the A game again. Spouse worked 28 years for that retirement/benefit and holds a small part time job for spending money. Told her a few years ago that spending money would actually become part of budget, due to the points you've already made. Brother is a retired Navel Commander and he's all wound up due to plans for retirement being "altered".

Obama Care, and it's follow on systems have little to do with health care and everything to do with controlling us. Watch over the next few weeks, as Obama and his cohorts make their move to take out the Bill of Rights. ONE of the arguments they will try to use for "gun control" is what guns cost the health care system
As to your brother's retirement, he EARNED it so of COURSE they are going to "alter it". The ONLY bunch who are NOT going to have their 'benefits' cut are the bums who suck off the public teat, those who don't, and often never, earned their way through life. That goes for military and civilians, even SS, a "ponzi scheme" forced on us by Congress and mishandled from day one.
They are going to continue to EXPAND welfare, you know like 'extended unemployment', and take the money from those with either the gumption, or stupidity, to earn their own way. Those who work, or worked, are going to take it in the ear.

Had to chuckle at this post. (in a good hearted way) Problem with predictions is placing a time stamp on them. Fact is; legislation has been passed which makes this scenario possible, whether it be used or not. It's indefinite detention with no charges, and no right to trial. Don't much get into "theories" but when facts are there to back up a notion......theories become possibilities.
Case in point; back in 2007 advised big bro NOT to buy his house in CA. All indications were collapse of the housing market and 1.5 years later he's lamenting a 25-50 grand downgrade on that property. We, on the other hand, found a buyer for our house in MI right before the collapse, moved to another place in MI following the collapse, and paid under market value.
How is it one person knew, while others did not? Research and pretty much ignoring MSM pundits will do the trick. They work for the very circle of people who caused the collapse, and knew it was coming.
RLENT has made a legitimate proposal IMHO. but the only mistake here may have been setting a time frame. Prepare to be taxed into oblivion, your rights will continue to be downgraded, and they've been after the guns ever since the progressive liberals and hippie professors took over this country.
Enough rant for the day, I say. Going over to look at that new Sprinter Ford has coming out. Gotta mix the good stuff with the theories......dontcha know.
What is no shock is Obama promised "no tax increases on the poor and middle class". Well that lasted through his campaign and that was it. Payroll tax increase starting the first of the year, followed by the new Obamacare tax. Yet...some of these people fell for this line again. Just amazing.
What else did you expect? Stupid is as stupid does. Dependent people tend to stay dependent.
