Keep in mind, if you have those pretty little IFTA stickers on your truck, that you still owe the tax for fuel burned whether you get any tax credit at purchase or not. Buying exempt reservation fuel for an IFTA truck means they reach into your pocket rather than your invisible fuel tax piggy bank. For IFTA trucks low price does not necessarily mean low cost.

Pjjjjj...Yes the reserves sell diesel....BUT In Ontario you must have a North American ID card or have a N/A in the vehicle!

In Buffalo...You notice the discount is about .20 a gallon BUT the state tax is .32 for an IFTA they are losing money by fueling up there....PLUS sometimes state troopers will sit on a reserve border and check out IFTA trucks on the way out. For me it was great not being IFTA and heading back into Canada!! Stopped there every chance I got. The Senecas even have a discount card for fuel.

Oh..the North American has to make the purchase.

The Feds...as in RCMP quite often sit on the reserves to enforce the law.....Local and the OPP can't go reserve.

To an North American citizen there is no border! They can cross whenever and a criminal record doesn't count for them!! It drives the border service nuts as you can imagine...

You could say that North American have more rights then residents of Washington DC...where ya got a few million Americans denied the right to vote and have representation and not covered under state rights amendments of the constitution.

WHOA.... you got it all wrong.... the District of Colombia was setup not to have any representation at all, it was supposed to be neutral ground to host the center of our Federal government and to avoid problems what we now have. This was a swamp at the time the constitution was created and the neutrality was a reflection of the United States and the idea that the states were independent little 'countries', so to simplify the matter and to stop any problems that might be created with any state hosing the capital, they created DC, a federal state. But there was never an intention to have any large population of people living there due to the fact that in the summer, Washington shut down because of the hot weather, it was that way till the war between the states then started again in the 1870's and continued until the early part of the 20th century. I don't like the idea of giving them representation, it goes against the concepts the US is based on and if they don't like it, well they can just move across the border to Maryland or Virginia.

greg in EU we don't have any more border to waiting during the weekend for a brokers dokuments and to get some $150 layover. The EU is a free zone no borders, no hasels, no problems ----it is fun and good way to be , we living in the 21 century we don't need this borders .The people who wnat to do somthing against the law thay have a way to by pass this borders ..........thay even don't thing about the border existinacy.

No, a lot of people don't know all they need to know about IFTA. A lot of people don't do their own. A lot of people rely on their carrier to take care of IFTA for them. They wind up losing a lot of money each year because they buy fuel based on price and not cost. Reservation fuel would be one prime example of price vs cost.

thats exactly right. if you keep the fuel tax structure for each state,you will know where to purchase your cheapest fuel

My God, we have the mayor of Detroit who was sued by former cops who were fired for doing their job investigating a wild party at the Mayor's crib, the Manoogian Mansion, the Mayor lost the case and settled out of court because the cops legal team showed the mayor the text messages that showed he lied and they wanted to get him but let him settle, the agreement was reached and sealed but after a settlement took place, the press found out that the mayor lied under oath, claiming that he did not have sex with his chief of staff but the press produced text messages that showed he did and he went on the defensive claiming that the press didn’t have the right to get those copies in the first place seeing that they were private city business but neglected to say that the city has a policy of disclosure so in order for him to CHA, he was having the city pay for his large legal defense team and a high priced PR firm until the city council found out about it so now that money is impart coming from his non-profit charitable funds which is not ethical all the while claiming it is a lynch mob mentality borne from the suburbs based on race while claiming that God has spoken to him and God said to stay in office while his staff are now trying to intimidate the press by publishing their names and numbers and warning the suburbs that they have no business in this matter at the same time he is trying to stop another law suit from going ahead in federal court, the law suit is by a representative of the 14 year old son of a dancer who was killed in a 'drive by shooting' after she was dancing at the Mayor's crib and saw something bad, while this is going on, the city has been trying to figure out which lawyer is working for who and the top lawyer in the area hired by the mayor and the city council for different reasons has stepped down representing the Mayor, the city and others but not stepped down to represent the chief of staff who the mayor had sex with that started all this mess and also lied in court as instructed to do by the mayor while this is going on, our governor said she is staying out of it because it is a criminal matter and the courts will have to decide if he is guilty or not which actually means she does not want to piss off the people in the city any more than she has in the past so removing him, which is the ethical and legal thing to do will not happen by her office.

I left a lot out about this subject like the lawsuits in federal court over the text messages, the panel of judges who are to determine the need to have the test messages in the court case, the prosecutor who has requested a full staff and a couple million extra to try the case, the mayor's PR staff who released a press release complaining that the make up of the county includes 40% blacks but the jury pool has less than 10% black jurors in it so he can't get a fair trial, the gag order that the mayors office wants on the attorney who is representing the son of the dancer, the refusal by the police to release the autopsy and investigation file to the attorney who is representing the son of the dancer and they can't find the former deputy chief of police to serve her as a witness in the case of the dancer while this is going on, his entire family who all work for the city is mounting a defense on city time with city money and the city council looks stupid for not forcing his resignation through the governors office.

Talk about a soap opera?

I bet you Marian Barry never could dream up this mess to cover up what he did as mayor of Washington.

AND you know what the really really sad thing is?

They had a mayor, Mayor Archer who was above all of this and he brought some dignity back to the office after Mayor Coleman A Young just ripped the city apart. It is sad that they reverted back to the garbage they had before.

There is no other city of corruption like the city of Detroit.
