Tall vans

I just don't know if I want a government vehicle though and it must be one since it's taken a decade to get done what should have been done in a year or two. If it will do real world 20mpg though on regular gasoline that's a big endorsement even if they are inexcusably slow getting it here.

Driver with the 3.42 went to the Northwest came back with nothing but compaints about down shifting all the time. He just left it in Direct.
Maybe you should show him where the tow/haul switch is located.

Ford may be slow, but they're certainly faster than GM for bringing a long and tall van to the U.S. market!

And they've had the long and tall Transits in most of the world (including over the bridge in Mexico), for years. Don't blame them for us putting up with mediocrity.

Yes, that is true and good for them but still quite slow. I'm not doing anything next week. I'll probably wait for the Transit to show up and see how it's priced and what the mpg claims are. In the interim I'll build a few dozen of them on paper to pass the time.

With a gas engine....My guess would be 39,900 - 42,900 range....should we start a pool....$5 bucks a square?....LOL

That's about the base price of a diesel Sprinter 2500. That would suggest it is going to be more than a Sprinter. Time will tell.

, if you want to play along, throw out your thoughts and comments on Hanvey, Midway, etc. in customizers as well as Espar (mandatory) and others in upgrades/addons as well as any specific and/or unique accessories plus any/all specific maintenance ideas and issues plus anything else you want to add. In other words, distract me a lot and keep me busy thinking and researching.

Truck spec porn!

Well, I hope when we get an American site it will be more typical of the current Ford sites but using the UK site to build a van comes up with about 31,500 pounds or about $49,000 at current exchange rates. That should drop a lot if we get the Ecoboost option, hopefully at least.

That includes VAT, doesn't it? Just about anything would be expensive as heck with a 20% sales tax!

Excluding VAT the price should be around £26,250, or about $40-41K. Cheaper than a Sprinter and more convenient than having a raised roof fitted to a Chevy...
