T300 external plugs

I'm new to Expediting and have been given a KW T300 which has 2 external plugs. One of them is attached to the battery box and wondered if this is for charging batteries or something else. Second, the other is a 125v on the outside of the sleeper and looks like it could be used to run electric like you might find at an RV park. Can anyone fill me in?

Welcome,
The first one you may have to describe a bit more.

The second one is for what is called Shore Power. It is exactly for the same purpose that an RV's plug. But before you plug anything into it, have it checked out.

Thanks. The other one that is attached to the battery box is the same size as the other and looks like the wires run up into the box from behind. We haven't been sent out on our first trip yet and the batteries keep dying. I wondered if this is because it has sat so long and wanted to charge the batteries.

If this truck has been sitting for awhile with dead batteries, then the batteries themselves are probably no good.

The first plug that you described is more than likely a block heater.

get a tester right now and take a reading on those batteries with the truck switched off.

anything under 12v and they are only good for ballast. call the owner right away. do not go gently into that dark night with dead sleeper batteries.

I would start with cleaning the terminals, and checking the cables. If the cables are bad, replace them.

I would than check the batteries like Jack suggested and if they need replacing, replace them all at the same time.
