Super Bowl Sunday and the World

Today here in Detroit it is super bowl Sunday, and the city is acting like bunch of idiots.

My contempt for Detroit aside, the issue I have with someof the idiots is that there are some claiming that the WORLD is focused on Detroit and that the super bowl is the most important, most watched and most everything for that matter than any other sporting event in the world.

I am wondering about this, a few of my friends (those in high places) claim that the FIFA World Cup is really the biggest sporting event in the world, which is true?

I think that if these two events would be played on the same day, the World Cup would win in viewers, Hype and importance but not revenue, so what do you think?

Oh yea one thing I find odd is that schools have soccer programs, why not cricket? Cricket is a sport that I find interesting to say the least.

When you leave the small core area of the stadiums, Greektown, ect., what do you have? Not much. I'm glad that the majority of the time I just drive through. A bummer for me is that after a 30-plus year run, the Supercross moves from the Silverdome to Ford Field. I've heard the stadium is fantastic, I just wish it was'nt downtown.
