Hello

i'm new to truck driving, right out the gate i got a job offer to fly to texas to drive Straight truck's back to a california dealership.

my question is, do i need to keep a log book with me driving an empty 40foot straight truck?

I learned truck driving in a 18 wheeler, not a straight truck so this is something new to me.

Thank you for any help givein.

You have to log anything 10,001 lbs or higher that is more than 100(?) Miles from your home terminal. Transporting is considered commercial trucking.
