Ive been driving tractor trailers for 5 months now. I just recently took my first local job driving a straight tanker for a septic service. My question is this , will this job hurt my career for tractor trailer since I am driving a straight tank truck?? Or should I find another tractor trailer job as soon as I can? Please advise....

I drove 18 wheelers for about 10 years and taught and a driving school for 3 years. If you have only been driving for 5 months most likely you will have to go with a trainer again if you go back to 18 wheelers. If you want to be able to get a job driving 18 wheelers you need to do it for a couple of years then if you want to go local you can some companies require you have drove at least 1 year in the last 3 years some require that you drove 1 or 2 years in the last 10 years. I hope this helps you.

Two years is kind of the magic number for years of experience for a lot of companies in combination (tractor / trailer) vehicles.
