Still good people out here!!

This morning as we fueled for our trip I was discussing with tbe lady at the counter about our professional drivers card and shower credit. Oh.....at a pilot, but they only did the diesel at this location, the gas was shell and the store was some mom and pop truck stop. So no credit for gas! Another trucker heard the conversation and approached me when I went back to the truck to finish up. He offered us showers from his card!!!! It really touched my heart!! This guy spoke broken English but we managed, I explained that we had credits and that I was just making sure to get credit for today's purchase so we cold keep up. He just wanted to make sure we had what we needed since he had plenty! I thanked him again and we all went on our way!!

Since it is probably more often that people are out there begging and stealing, nice for you to encounter someone willing to lend a hand. From all I can tell, this profession is made up of good people!

Being a new driver has me hoping this is the case....at least on occasion. Always good to hear a story, whereby someone took the time to offer assistance while showing off the human equation. Seems to me this country has enough all about me people and anxious to run across some old school folks. Thanks for the post.

This profession, as well as the country as a whole, has LOTS of good people willing to lend a hand. We just seldom hear about it. Why? Because it is not NEWS, it is more like the norm.

I don't think the reason we DON'T hear about it is because it is the norm - rather because people love drama. They would rather talk about the things that are wrong than to pat mankind on the back. However, mankind does give us something to talk about - few choose to do so.
