Staying busy in a Sprinter on the West Coast

Retired Class-A driver thinking about running a Sprinter on the West Coast/ 11 western. Is this a pipe dream? or is there freight for it over here? I understand there's freight back east but haven't heard much about the west.

Retired driver? You know how to speak the speak to shippers and recievers. Why not do a bit of free lancing with your own DOT number and stay as busy as your ability allows?? Go knock on some doors and test the water?
