Haven't seen the new one but they will need a 9 foot electrified fence and armed guards for the parking lot in that area. They are doing a good job with the remodeled sites with the showers and the food. The parking area in all truck stops is where most of the problems are and yes the drivers create most of the problems.

If drivers would wise up and stop giving money to people that just need gas money or their car broke down, buying junk from people, and using hookers we would be much better off.

The cost for showers has increase by a little more then the cost of living per year... Nothing stays the same.

Diane and I have not seen this remodeled Gary, IN, truck stop yet but the feature list is in line with what is appearing in all remodeled TA and Petro sites. Truck stops are an important, indeed vital, part of an expediter's life and work on the road. Imagine what life would be like if there were only fuel stops without the many features truck stops offer.

The quality and attractiveness of TA/Petro truck stops have greatly improved in the eleven years we have been on the road. TA used to be the last truck stop choice we made. It is now our first choice. We especially appreciate the significant fuel discount TA/Petro offers through our carrier. And we appreciate the improvements to the showers. It is really nice to enter a clean shower with ample towels and to see white-coated staff dedicated full-time around the clock to keeping those showers clean and quickly available.

Because we get free showers with a fifty-gallon fuel purchase, the price increase of $5 to $13 for a shower had not been an issue. But when noting that increase, one must also note the remodeled facilities and additional services. Those showers used to be flat-out nasty in places. They are a delight to use now. And that has become consistent nationwide throughout the brand.

What is our truck stop of choice? TA/Petro, without question!

I could tell you about 40 years ago when there were, let me see I think 4 showers in the country and 5 truck stops but I won't go there. $13 for a shower not bad when you buy fuel and get it for free but even if you have to pay for it, if it's to much shower less, no one will notice but the dog.

They would be our fleets choice as well. And you can't beat the fuel discounts we get by using them. Drivers save a considerable amount verses locations with just a nickel or something.

Being in Gary, IN is probably a bigger problem. ;)
i think {& hope} we are all in for a big surprised here. TA/Petro worked closely with the city of Gary to ensure public image will reflect the brand name. a 'Tom' from TA/Petro came on the XM the other day and said{something like} that the city council understands the important part trucking play into the economy of that whole area, and are committed to the safety/security of costumers. he said the city played a big role in making it the nice place it is.
only time will tell.
any bet's ?
