hello all, im tigger, new to e/o. i've been a straight truck driver for the last 5 years, working for someone else, low wage, early hours, all that, so somehow i found out about expediting, but i don't have my own truck so i would somehow have to buy one, im sure you all have been asked this before,is there alot of start up moneys needed to buy a truck and get into the business? and if i find the moneys to do it, will i make a good imcome to recroup that? i know ever instance is different, i just checked with con way now recruiter and my thoughts were to stay on the east coast which she said east of the mississippi mostly, so thats good, but she said about staying out for 2 weeks at a time, not sure about that. so i guess what iam asking is can you make a good living if you don't stay out 2 weeks at a time?? thanks in advance for any help

The best advice is to read over all the past post on this subject (you will be here a while). You will also find out that just about everyone will tell you to drive for someone else (a fleet owner). That way you will not have that big truck payment. Look at the classifieds here at EO and call and talk to a few owners.
Hope this helps a little.
And welcome to this web site it is a great tool for expediters.
