Sprinter Warranty

I saw an advertisment on the tv yesterday about dodge now having a lifetime powertrain warranty. I wonder if this will cross over to the Sprinter as well? That would be great for you guys who own them.

I suspect even if it does it will have a commercial use exclusion but doubt it will unless perhaps on the non-cargo models.

No commercial vehicles are included. Even the Dodge Cummins and I understand anything with a heavy duty towing package is also excluded.

Chrysler Corp tried a 7 yr/70,000 mile warranty back in the 90's. After they got the bill for the repair costs, they dropped back to a
3 yr/36,000 mile warranty.

I’ll guess it won’t be very long before GM drops the 5 yr/100,000 mile parameters.

Well it would only make sense not to have the sprinter in the Dodge lineup, seeing it is actually a mercedes product. Shifting it back to freightliner makes more sense to me and it seems to them.

From what I gathered from the D-C people is;

The people who hold stock are really upset with the idea that there will be no stock split but a force sale of their D-C stock.

There will be this getting back to basics within the car line up, which may include dropping of a few 'retro' sticker models and revamping the entire line.

There will be a pairing down in the truck line and possibly a complete from the ground up new truck.

But who knows?

Oh by the way, this is not a 'sale' of Chrysler but rather a sale of part of the ownership of the group, big difference.
