Sprinter vans and showers for fuel purchases

I drive a e-350. I buy my fuel at flying-j.21gal will get you a 1/2 shower. i have learned recently not to fill up my tank when i fuel up.if im on a load i check for j's along the route and only put 21 gal to get a 1/2 shower. 500 mile trip i can collect a 2 1/2 showers for a full shower. hope this makes sence and helps you out

This is the kind of stuff a newbie likes to know. When you guy gas, do they give you a ticket or half ticket for a shower? How does that work? Thanks. :+ :+
When you fuel at the Flying J and use your driver rewards card it records your fuel purchase and stores the shower for 7 days. I presume what's happening is you fuel and get a 1/2 shower then the next day or two fuel again and get another 1/2 shower. Now you can go in and use your card for 1 shower. I'm going to a straight truck with dual 80's so I won't have to worry about the shower issue now.

No, it's not a credit card. It's just a card they use to track your spending on fuel. You get one point per gallon and one point per dollar spent in their restaurant and each point is worth one penny in their store. You can use it for sodas or snacks or whatever they have in the store. You also use it to get credit for the showers. They don't take points away when you shower, they just record gallons and then the use of the shower. I believe it is one shower for 50+ gallons and you have 7 days to use the shower from that purchase.

In regards to the flying J you only need to purchase 20 gals of gas and that will give you 1/2 shower and 1/2 drink. you will need to go to the fuel desk and sign up for a flying J frequent fueler card if you don't already have one. then after you have the card you just insert it into the card reader first then follow the prompts on the gas pump. first it will say press 1 for cash or 3 for credit card. followed by insert purchase card,if using a credit card. then do you want a receipt yes or no. also a good thing do do after you fuel is to go inside and swipe your card through the reader in the drivers lounge and check available coupons to make sure your shower registered. sometimes it won't. if that is the case go to fuel desk with your receipt and tell them, they will make the correction. usually by giving you a coupon for a full shower. showers and drinks on your card are good for 7 days from the date of purchase. also get a booklet of the flying j travel plazas so that you know where they are all located. after awhile you'll know where most are in the areas that you run. and you will probably only stop at a pilot in emergency cases. lol also when you know where the flying j's are and your low on fuel, stop and only get enough somewhere else to get you to the J.
on gmc and chevy if your gauge is touching the 1/4 tank mark you should be able to squeeze in 20 gals.

if you travel the same area all the time get to know the fuel desk
people and if they give you good service tell their manager
they remeber thepeople who went out of the way to say something nice
about them to their boss

The Detroiter gives you a shower for 2 bucks when you fuel a cargo van, good for up to a week.
back to the Flying J. If you have a co-driver, (dog or cat or person). he/she should also get a frequent fueler card. take both cards to the fuel desk and ask the clerk to link them. Now you will each get credit for half shower/ drink. Also. each month the J will send the main card holder coupons based on 1 cent per gallon bought. we usually get seven or nine dollars woth each period. they are good in the restaurant and in a catalog for some overpriced stuff. Don't forget to ask for the old peoples discount at the restaurant; that's another 10% saved. Same for petro restauants, wendys et al. The younger the cashier, the older you look; drool a little if necessary.
