Sprinter Sleeper conversion pics.

I was wondering if, someone with a Sprinter sleeper conversion could take a couple of pics of their sleeper and post them. I need to give the company that is doing mine a better idea of what I want. Also, if someone knows a company in Michigan, (besides alumi-bunk), that does the conversions. If so, could you post please. Thanx a bunch.

Try Bentz Transport Products Ft. Wayne In. 1-800-664-BUNK. They build a nice conversion that is reasonably priced.

I'd drive to anywhere before doing Alumibunk, based on all the horror stories I've heard about them. It's too bad you didn't know about Jon Mosier and Freightliner of Knoxville sooner. They have a really nice one ready to drive away. On top of that Jon is a stand up guy who takes care of his customers the right way. I bought my D unit from him and it's a great truck. What company are you signing on with? Good luck to you.

Is anyone running a generator for an a/c or heating unit?

With those sleepers in the Sprinter, how much length is left over for freight?

Thanks...
:)

Haven't found a generator for mine yet, I'm still lookin.

As far as space I have a 8' 11" in mine. Most companies only require 8.5'.

The Startracks xtreme Sprinter looks pretty neat. I wonder if you can still get 3 pallets in. (pretty important) Also I can just see that first tow motor operator pushing those pallets in until they hit something - like that nice Norcold frig.;-)

I agree. Wouldn't be too long until some of that build out is messed up by cargo. I also don't like that if you want to lay in bed and watch tv it's impossible with that setup. The Sprinter that Jon Mosier at Freightliner of Knoxville has is a much better setup. The only advantage to the startrucks is the wider bed.

Bentz or Midway would be my choice. The star trek has the wrong set up. You need a periscope from a submarine to watch the tv.:7

I spent alot of time and money building a sleeper into my sprinter.
only to get negitive reactions when I go to talk to recruiters .
Seems they want enough room for 3 skids so they can load and
overload you with as much cargo as possible.

Not sure what design you have but the Bentz version was at the EO show and it appeared to be well recieved by all the companies that were there.

Why are recruiters not liking your Sprinter? Don't most companies only require room for 2 pallets? I know the 158 inch version could hold 3, but that only leaves 2 feet for sleeper/storage. Don't they pay van rates if you haul 2 pallets?

It looks like the startrack woud be ok. Bill at Express-1 said He would only take on My Sprinter if I took out the sleeper so it could fit 3 skids. He said He tells anyone looking at a sprinter not to get a built in sleeper. Two local companies would accept it but said I would get more loads. And make more money without it.

What is a guy suppose to do without a sleeper? Sure there would be times when you would be empty and could use the whole cargo area, but what about when you have a full load and nowhere to sleep? Any ideas...

Also these companies take on regular "2 skid" vans. Why are they making you change your Sprinter to hold 3? Are they going to pay you more per mile?

Thanks,

Apollo

Can you post pics of your conversion? I'm surprised to hear you are having so much trouble getting on with it. I considered a Sprinter quite a bit before going with a D unit. When it's time to retire this truck I may go to a Sprinter because by then I should be finished paying for college for my kids.
