Sprinter brake job

On my way to LA, my brakes got a little soft and the pad, rotor indicator lit up...I ordered the front and rear brake kits from euro parts and had them delivered to the ups store...

I'm a little nervous about trying to do this myself, especially while on the road...anybody know a good sprinter mech in LA?

...or perhaps I should just take to a Goodyear or a Firestone store and have them do the job with my parts...?

All ideas will be considered...don't want to do another run with brakes in current condition!

Any competent mechanic can do brakes. Having said that, I wouldn't take it to a Goodyear or a Firestone store. :D

I'd look for an independent repair shop, one that looks like it's been there for a while. But if you want a dealer, on the west side there's MB of Long Beach and right next door is Glenn Thomas Dodge, both are good. Louie's Brake and Alignment in Riverside is good. And if you're out east then Sal's Auto Repair on Foothill Blvd in Fontanna is excellent (which is where I'd take mine).

If you have ever done brakes yourself there is no reason you cant do the ones on the Sprinter, I have done all 4 on mine and they are no harder than any other vehicle. One odd thing is the wear sensor, but once you see how it is in there, its self explanitory. If you are going to change the rotors, you are going to need a good quality set of torx sockets and maybe an impact driver to loosen them from the hubs, mine came right off, but I could see how they could freeze in there and be a bear to remove.
