Spark Plugs

My E-250 now has 130,000 miles on the odometer and the spark plugs have not been changed. The van is running good, no cylinders missing and good mpg. I put Lucas Fuel Treatment every 10,000 miles which also cleans the heads. I have heard horror stories about removing these sparks plugs breaking when being removed on the 4.6 Ford engine. Anybody have any experience with this engine and the spark plugs?

It's common for them to break in 5.4 but haven't heard about others. If it does break ford sales the tool to remove remaining part.

Would it be prudent to spin them out, inspect them, lubricate, and replace ? Maybe at that point just replace them anyway ?
I think I'd rather replace them too often than wait til I had a problem.

I change them in my vans after 300k. And I dont use any Lucas. Waist of money. Not in the fuel not in the oil. You will have problems with the coils. One buy one. $50-60per piece. The plugs are cheap the labor cost 200.
