Thinking about running Solo D unit out of Lexington kentucky. Whats everyones opinion of this area ? If it is a good area, I'm trying to get a feel of which carrier is best to run this area. Of course, I realize once you take a load, then your in another area. Is is logical or possible to stay busy running KY, OH, TN, WV, IN, VA ?

Thanks

Most companies don't have a problem getting loads out of Lexington/Georgetown area. Not much of a problem getting back either. The difference depends on what you want to do with that time between those two loads; how much time you plan on staying out; how far away from home you're willing to go; whether you want to go to Canada or not; whether you want to go northeast or not; whether you want to go to TX or FL or not; west coast or not, etc. If you're willing to follow the freight and keep on going, there are companies that will make you happy. All depends on what you're looking for.

Tennesseahawk has it right. But don't expect to see any freight out of WV- most of us just run through it on 77 or 19/77 to get somewhere else. VA has also gotten lousy in recent years. I think a lot of companies in VA have moved and gone elsewhere. Roanoke is looking like the pitts nowadays. From KY north or south you will do well- sometimes LEX is good and at times slow. Just depends on who you haul for... LEX is also a good transfer point for the legal-running companies.
