So long, farewell, adios

I am retired and my truck is decommissioned. When I first started expediting, I took the advice of many of you and made a list of personal goals, financial goals, and developed a business plan. With a disciplined work ethic and strict adherence to my business plan I was able to meet my personal and financial goals much earlier than I had anticipated..... Business Plan??? Goals??? Work ethic??? Good grief!!! I sound like A-Team!!! Truth is my wife came into a modest inheritance. Since we adhere to the Golden Rule in our household, I chose to retire. The Golden Rule you ask? "She who has the gold makes the rules". She said "Park that truck". Well...I have always chosen where and when I will work. I simply dug in my heels, shoved out my chest and very quietly said "Yes Ma'am". I want to thank all of you who have helped me with your advice and suggestions. I have greatly enjoyed all of the conversations, debates and arguments on the forum. Thanks to all the Mods, too. You guys and gals do a great but thankless job. Not sure what I will be doing now. One of the projects I will be involved with is to use my newly acquired quilting skills to make "Quilts of Valor". These are quilts that are made and given to our injured military people who are in the hospitals. So long for now, and drive safely.

theoldprof Good Luck on your retirement. I hope you have either a spare room or have added on for all of your quilting materials. That is a great project and a really fun hobby to get into.

Good luck Prof and enjoy your new life. When the road calls maybe you can make an occasional 500 mile run for quilting material.

Hello, Everyone.

Thanks for all the good wishes. To answer some of them: We are looking into building a new home and it will have a quilting room. We have taken a run to Gatlinburg for a quilt show. Brought back a few items. My Honeydew list started out three pages. The second item, not the second page, is a disaster. I started to repair an 8 inch small crack in the ceiling. Patch went OK. Touched up the paint. Due to the burning of the fireplace, the ceilings are slightly darkened. The same paint doesn't match. Now I am in the process of painting the ceiling. Of course the ceiling is a vaulted ceiling and it covers the great room, the kitchen and the dining room. Actually it is about half the house. Oh well, I nave nothing else planned.
Drive carefully,
