From start of the year until about 3 weeks ago was doing very good and then it got REAL SLOW. Disappointed.

One of the slowest Aprils in 14 years.....:( Usually we are tearing up the roads this time of year....

Hmmm its seems all the Good loads are coming out of areas like Berea , Ky. or Oswego , Ny. or the Carolinas ......:p:p

Feb and March were slow for me, but April is going to be good with 10k on 4 loads

What kind of truck are you in? I told everyone 2 months ago I wanted to get a strait and they all said stick to the sprinter so that is what I did.... lets see if May can rebound. I heard a rumor straight were only getting 1.50 a mile, that is like a quarter to 30 cents more then sprinter after fuel.

I won't even start my truck for $1.50 per mile. If and when it gets that low I will go out of business. It's not worth it out here for that little money. That's getting down to minimum wage levels.

Rates are down. Everyone is having to dig deep to get loads. Not having to wh0re out the trucks. But slim the margins. Very worth it if it can get more revenue to the truck. But that's just MY opinion. If I have to make a few bucks less to move a truck? I'm HAPPY to do so.

If I was 20, no kids, it would be! AT 63? NOPE! Besides, I have a granddaughter and a BUNCH of nieces and nephews to spoil. I want to be around for that. Life is too important to waste it just for earning a few extra bucks.

I went back on the road the last week of March after a few months. I drive a straight and I've been doing well (until this week but hopefully that's just bad luck catching up to me).

The freightblog at DAT has been reporting very good van rates up until last week. This week we're down a bit. Looks like a good time to own a flatbed.

Correction: I've been back on the road since the last week of Feb, not March. I thought it seemed like an eternity. :)

Do you guys think Monday - Wednesday will be busy this coming week since it's the end of the month? I'm sitting in LA and hoping for a Sprinter load somewhere East or TX-Chicago-FL. I'm wondering if I should bid low and try to get out in fear of Thursday and Friday not producing any loads. Lets hope Tues and Wednesday will be magical days :)

Stick it out in LA. Sometimes it can be good, sometimes not so much. We have been sitting in Dallas for 3 days now, even with dry run status. I feel your pain

If you're not on the border, don't go down there. Thursday the 1st is May Day in Mexico, ie their Labor Day, so I would predict a major slowdown after noon on Wed., lasting through the weekend.

Not Welcome in New York

I've been lucky this month with my loads paying 1.45 up for distance. 1450, 1100, 2200 and Monday out of SD to Omaha 1600 and change. Best load this month 2.02 for 1100 miles.

But I also posted that Feb and March were a bust.
