There is a lot to be said by the name of a carrier. What does Whirlwind tell you??
Sorry that was a typo. LOL!
There's you're problem right there. I have no sympathy for people running for 80-60 cpm, or less, and whining that they can't make it in this business, especially in a Sprinter.Figure in the deadhead to get that load, and the 60-80 cpm or less is actually alot less per mile.Which equals bankrupt.
I would think if sugarplum was having as hard of a time financially as he/she leads on like they would look in to a stable single company.
So how do you know who is under insured?
My operating authority requires me to maintain a policy with $300,000 primary liability. Some on here claim you need no operating authority to expedite on your own in a van so how how would you know how much insurance they are required to have.
Well Sylectus is a software company. They really don't care and it is not their business to worry about payments (unless you don't pay them, lol). TEANA is a trade organization. We do have a code of ethics that maintains timely payments will be made to other members. If not a member company may file an ethics violation. Not paying ones own trucks is not an area that the organization covers as that is an internal company issue. Whirlwind is not currently a TEANA member.
When you haul as an outside carrier, with your own authority, for Panther, Fedex, Bolt, and Tri-state, they all made you wait 30 days before they sent you a check. Express-1 made you wait longer. Smaller companys like On-time Express and MP Logistics paid every week. I never hauled for Whirlwind but I might now if they would update their website with their current rates and practices.
Really?.....They are listed on the TEANA site ( maybe it hasn't been updated). I understand it is an internal company issue. But, not paying one's own workers speaks of how ethical that company is. Doesn't it??? Shouldn't that be relevant?

You know what, guido4475????........I do not want your sympathy, you can shove it .............If you run, even for that amount (60-80 cpm) and you get loads you make some money, barely but you do and you can at least put food on the table so your kids can eat. But if you SIT on your *** and wait for the load that pays you $1 or more per mile, you could be sitting for weeks at a time, not just days. So I wasn't 'whining', I was just *****ing about those companies that take advantage of the drivers (O/O). I guess you're luckier than most if you get a lot of loads that pay that well. More power to you.
You are so right BigCat..........I have had some really hard times and I am in the process of changing all that. Let's hope it works. Wish me luck......OK?
It is in the process of being updated as renewal period just ended. While I personally agree with what you are saying on this post, it is not something that trade organizations can get involved in. Other member carriers can file ethics violations against another member. It is one of the advantages of membership.
All these yrs doing this and s don't have a pot to whiz in..,,
