PHOENIX (AP) -- Actor Steven Seagal and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office are being sued over a 2011 arrest that a Phoenix-area man says was staged for a reality TV show.

Jesus Llovera says Seagal and deputies unlawfully raided his home because they thought Llovera was raising fighting roosters.

Llovera says the birds on his property were for show and not for fighting.
The civil suit asks for a jury to determine unspecified monetary damages.

The Arizona Republic reports that the Sheriff's office was participating in the creation of a reality show, "Steven Seagal: Lawman," that followed Seagal's exploits as a deputized officer.

The Sheriff's office insists in court documents that the use of a tank, a bomb robot and 40 deputies was part of its normal course of duties.

That last line just cracks me up. "A tank, a bomb robot and 40 deputies." Sounds like a madcap comedy from the 60s.

Seems to me like a sheriffs department that has more taxpayers money than it knows what to do with.

Seems to me that Sheriff Joe needs a hard lesson in how not to be a tv star and focus on crime. I think if I was in his county, I would be asking myself why is he supporting a hasbeen actor who has nothing else in the way of talent but to screw with people and televise it.

Seems that they keep on votin' him in! Must be kinda like Ron Paul or John Dingell. They either really like him or his fixes the vote, or both. He is a politician. Besides, I don't live there. Don't make a flip to me! Hope he knocks of a lot of drug scum.

As long as he stays within the confines of the constitution. I have read too much of him violating citizens rights and nobody says two twats about that!

That is an issue for those who can take care of it. I really have NO idea. It is unlikely that I will ever hear an unbiased account of what goes on there in any our 'new outlets'. Which is one of the primary reasons our Constitution is in trouble.

The press makes no effort to point out Obama's assault on the Constitution. Our press, sucks.
