Hey all, I have some more questions any help is great.

What kind of average weekly income can a 1 ton van earn after fuel?

Also, are there any companies that take van teams? And is there any more income for a team van over a single?

And any van drivers out there feel free to comment on anything concerning a cargo van, because im trying to learn as much as possible.

Thanks in advance for all your help.

I don't run any vans but searching the archives here on EO will give you a wealth of information. A team would likely make more money, but I am not sure how that translates to each company.
Keep in mind that not all companies are recruiting vans at this time.
I would talk to as many drivers and recruiters as you can to make a informed decision.

Hey guys thanks for help.

Im located 40 miles south of Cleveland.
How is this area for running a van?

Also does anybody know about any local work in this area?
The reason im asking is because my wife won't be getting her cdl for a few months so I was wondering if there was something I could do part time along with my job untill she gets her licence.

If anybody who is running a gas van reads this I would be very thankfull if you could email me because I have a lot of questions.
My email is [email protected].
And also anybody that can offer me any information or pointers feel free to give me your 2c.

Thanks all, this site has been a world of help so far and I am glad to be a part of it.
Hope to join you on the road soon.

I believe I am correct by saying this. Your wife will not need a CDL to drive a Van. A team will do much better but you better know what that is first many of Van drivers here on this site have voiced their anger and concern about this industry. Many of C & D truck drivers only voice their concern but most of these are Solos.

Please read, ask, read somemore, than ask. Know your finances and have a clear picture of your goals and income for your goals. Go to the truck stops I-70 & 76 intersection or close to Turnpike you will find Vans their to talk with ignore the ones with no common sense and seek out those with knowledge.

From experience if I were to ever get into this again I would not buy a truck again. Almost all my loads were van loads and I would get paid the same as a van driver would while I had the expenses of a C Truck to maintain.I was literally driving for free, lost money almost every week. This was with Roberts Express.

Hi
Cleveland and the Akron Canton area are good areas for van freight. Two people in a van can get crowded especially in the winter. Also there is alot of vans already in that area.Have you considered a straight truck? More comfort, more freight, and more revenue.A team in a straight truck makes about 3 times as much as a single in a van.I'm not sure what team vans are making.

Well last month I made about $600/week after expenses for running. Most months I usually do around 450-500. Slow months are coming so I expect to only do 400-500 until March. I do however put in the hours and take almost every job offered. I do a lot of DH miles but I'm lucky in that dispatch knows I'll try and bail their butt out of a jam and it has helped get so nice work. Unfortunately not every place is like that.
