Seeing it to the end

I just read that Iraq is negotiating with the US for troop withdrawal and that the "Surge" force will be all but completely gone within the next few weeks.

I was under the impression that we would be there for the next 100 years but it looks like Iraq is split in having us stay as a peacekeeping mission or having us leave completely with a small base or two being leased to us by the Iraqis.

Are we seeing it to the end?

Why haven't we seen any good stuff in the news about this?

You know for the record, we occupied Germany the time we crossed the Rhine in 1945 to 1955, a ten year stretch. In that time from May of 1945 to 1949 our military was in place with the Soviets, French and the British to govern the country of Germany.

From 2003 to 2008, we invaded, took down a oppressive empire, let the Iraqi's build up their government and now we may be out of these within a year?

Well see OVM, you maybe underestimating the Iraqis. They want a peaceful life especially after living under the rule of a Stalin look alike.

I think that our return there will be because of Iran alone, but again I don't see us going to war with Iran because as soon as Iran makes a move, Israel will just nuke them and Syria and anyone they feel is a threat and that will be a bigger problem overall because the middle east will glow for a while.

No..you mistook my thinking....I think the Iraqi's are better off then FOX or CNN reports... I think that removing our troops will settle the band of rebels that are yelling for our dismissal....and they will hopefully have no excuse to cause trouble.
