Pretending there aren't ontological differences between the sexes has always been a leftist shibboleth. The reeaaalllly believe in that. I recently read a column by a crazy, loathsome ***** who bemoaned the fact that her young son was displaying signs of chivalry, complaining that this have him "extra" social rules to observe. How unfair, un-egalitarian, and feminists should oppose special treatment anyway, she whined.
Unfortunately, her side is winning the culture wars.
In another case, some crazed, leftist hippies garnered attention for having told no one the sex of their son or daughter. He/She had an androgynous name, and they dressed him/her in a sexless way. Only their doctor knew the child's sex. Even the grandparents didn't know. Their reasoning?
"You don't go up to people you meet and ask then what's between their legs."
In their dope-addled minds, that's the only difference between men and women--what's between their legs, and their son or daughter is going to pay the price for it in the coming years.

Another question... since equality is the goal, shouldn't females now be required to register with the Selective Service and be equally available to a military draft?

When a Radical Islamist unit captures one of young female soldiers on the battlefield... a very ugly trauma awaits. If one such incident gets video-recorded and broadcast around the world, there will be regrets of unimaginable proportion.

Women should be drafted too. They have been slacking for WAY too long, demanding equal rights without wanting the equal responsibility. MAYBE ONLY women should have to register for and get drafted, if the draft is reinstated, for about the next 100 years. Sort of to make up for the injustice of the prior hundred years. Kinda like affirmative action.
