OK I admit ... I have a cluttered van and in the cargo area is worn and has oily streaks from the oil containers I have hauled. I hate dirt and grim and spend some time cleaning it out almost every run. I still haven’t finished the bunk or the wiring for the lights, so I still have tools and stuff in the van but they will be gone soon and I will have more room. I haven’t washed it (outside of course)as much as I want to, I have to scrub the bugs off (I am going to try the Windex theory) and give it a good wax.
In the last 10 days I ran into four van drivers that keep their van so dirty (I mean garbage all over the van and one even admitted not cleaning it out for over a year and dug around to find McDonalds burgers he forgot about from January, yes there was a receipt in the bag) and all these vans stink like a locker room...BAD. Even one smelled like, well a bathroom (can’t find the proper words to describe the smell but think of dirty diapers), I was four spots away up wind and I moved my van three more spots away because of the smell was so strong I started to get sick.
All these drivers claim that they are getting good miles and great rates, so did I miss something? Is this the True Secret of Sucess?
