What's wrong with it? Other than serving cheese pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches a little too often, and the omission of the ever popular Salisbury steak, it looks pretty good to me.

Skyraider, Just what is wrong with it ? Don't like veggies and fruit ?

If you have ever visited a elementary school lunch room, you will find out many are not eating that stuff. You have to look at it thru the eyes of a child. Now that said, Im remembering when I was in grade school, its a time warp, we did not have that stuff they eat today, well some of it i guess. Im a pinto beans, mash potatoes, hamburger steak, real D milk, green beans without the wax whatever that is and corn on the cob food, and those real yeast rolls, but then again that was in the 50s when food was cooked at the schools.

Lets start over, do any of you have kids in elementary school and have you been there to see if they eat the food??

My co/driver wife taught school 27 years . By law they have to try and teach good eating habits.
Look around you at guys our age. They should have started 40 years earlier.

Well it appears my thread is a dud, but things happen and it may appear the food menu in schools is a non issue, and most folks in here have grown kids, so ,,there u go. I shall now go out now and drink a fifth of Hamiltion County cough syrup and kill any brains cells I have left. The tail gate party begins 11pm eastern at Pensacola Beach, see the Bushwacker bar there. I may be late.lol

Yep. Let em git up a half hour earlier and bag their own......I would.....steada eating that goo. Jes an old timers attitude. I'm only an old fart and lived thru brown bags. But, I gotta say the school lunches in the 50's and 60's were actually OK.

Looks like prayer not allowed in Canadian Schools but permissable outside ?

I have no issue with no prayer in any school..US or Canada......It is a parents job to teach their own kids about God or whom ever they believe in....

The more we remove God from everyday life the more screwed up this country gets!

Really?.....maybe parents should step up more to fill in? Educating kids is the churches job and parents....IMO anyhow...

Not talking about educating. It is a reminder of who we are. A prayer, a moment of silence, reciting the pledge all help to remind us of things that should be in our mind. The more those things are removed the sooner we forget.

That menu almost looks good.
Anytime I look at my kids school lunch menu I have to wrap my brain arround the fact the government telling us our kids are fat, and wants to outlaw junk foods and beverages. Looking at the menu and the food its self, the majority of the things are all carbohydrates, and high fats, and far from ballanced. I dont know if its actualy eddiable.

I tell kids that the lunch ladies have ta take and pass a class in how to wreck food.
