I have heard and seen many "SCAMS" but the one I will never forget happened to me back in May of 04. If you go back and read past POSTs you will see the entire story but it had to do with a break down.

One of my trucks went down near Muncie and it was a transmission. I was here in town and had to trust the folks where the Tow driver took the truck. Bottom line is they charged me for a new transmission but put in one from a junk yard. This resulted in a break down shortly after leaving the shop and at that point a new transmission.

That was a SCAM I will never forget and I guess the name of the place should have clued me in that I was going to screwed.

I69 Trucks and Trailers. Give it some thought. The name says it all. Beware when having trucks worked on and you are not there to witness what is really done

Raceman,

What did you do in that situation? Hopefully, you placed it on a major credit card and were ableto dispute the charges.

Unfortunately, most, if not all those shysters have their credit card
use/acceptance set up on their end so they are guaranteed whatever the customer signs up for. I ran into that once on the Ohio TP, where we needed some repair while under a hot load, was charged $2600 for a bandaid that took 4 hours, all labor charges, no parts. Couldn't do a thing about it, the repair place had it all locked up.
