I was passed a couple of times today in N Michigan by full sized Transits with mfr plates. Looked to be ready for North America based on license plate frames and stuff. Very nice bring em on.

I have seen a few of them running around the metro detroit area...it looked pretty good in the "sprinter vein"....

There's a guy that lives a block away from my parents house that has had various full size Transits in his driveway for about the past year and a half. They look nice and I wouldn't mind test driving one when they hit the dealers.

I did not know that the Transit name had such a rich history. I really hope that this van is as reliable as the E series, & not as expensive to maintain or repair like the Sprinter.

Do you think they'll discontinue the E Series when this Transit comes out? I'm hoping not because I hear those Sprinter Type vans are much more expensive to maintain and repair.

They are unlikely to discontinue it anytime soon because they would want to make sure they had a loyal following for the replacement.

Well, in recent years, the Ford Transit do not have the same success it used to have in EU markets.
back in the late 80's, and into the mid 90's the transit was the work horse of the EU.
in recent years, sales #'s show the best seller being the Iveco Daily, with the Sprinter just shortly behind, then the FIAT Docato, and the Renault/Citrue'n.
there is only one loyal market, that is England's, where the transit will rule forever. the Brit's never really forgiven Ford for getting away with the 'smiley grill', me neither !.
